Buried under agony: the magic in you. From the start I could see the magic in you. I shaped your ear and opened your mind. When you reached out to me, you woke a giant sleeping under layers of alienation. I woke up, you gave to me the magic in you. When you reached out to me you had the power, my song and footprints disappearing by the hour. You tried to remake father in your image, and so you grabbed me by the hair. We did it your way. You pulled me up into your world. There’s only your way. I tried to show you there’s more than one way to skin a cat. Song reaching deep inside, the magic in you. Ancient hell twisting your mnd, the magic in you. You took from me but you felt like you were giving. I had much more to give than you were taking, and so I slowly pulled away. When you were young, you thought the world was your oyster. I was a trophy of your growing power. But then the sirens lured your ship onto the rocks. You nailed yourself to the cross. A desperate effort to explain, you did it your way. Friends and lovers pushed away, there’s only your way. One day you’ll learn that there’s more than one way to a skin a cat. The gods have blessed you, open your heart. Reach out to those who love you. Just a little faith in love will strengthen you. Buried under agony: the magic in you. Let love shine so all can see the magic in you.

I swim in you. You are my river. Every waterfall thrills and delights me. I must swim it all, every corner. I swim in you. When I swim in you, the water’s sweet. When I swim in you I push the water gently, the palms of my hands pushing water gently. Around every bend, a new discovery. I swim in you. When I swim in you, sometimes the water’s deep. When I swim in you, sometimes the current’s strong. I kick with my feet, I swim deeper inside you. I swim in you. Climb me, I am your mountain. Miles of trails up to my summit. Every flower on the way is reaching up to you for your picking. This love is for you. You climb me, I am your mountain. Every narrow pass thrills and delights you. Climb it all, every boulder. I swim in you.

Cool Water 03:39
Crystal cool water above, you pour over my head, quenching my skin. Shimmering water in cloud, you hang over my head, promising rainbows. When my mind catches fires, you soothe my burns. When regrets cut my flesh, you bathe my wounds. When courage turns to dust, you baptize my will. Crystal cool water, spring up. You kiss me when I am dry, bring me back to life. In the desert at high noon, no shade or cover and the sun is soaking up water from my bones. Cool water, drops of life blossom in my cheeks. When the water returns to the sky, heaven glistens with motion and life. Crystal cool water above. Crystal cool water, spring up.

I am a champion of the great big zero. You are the sand dunes drifting by. Somehow the hours pass away and we’re still alive. Somehow there’s always fruit on the vine. Let’s be together as we fall through zero. I am a broken satellite sending a signal into the void. We evaporate. Somehow there’s always fruit on the vine.

TV was young, hopes were high. Suburban lawns cut by hard working dads on weekends. War victory made them high. Wall Street markets booming through the ceiling. I was born on the tail end of a dream. Wake up, get ready to run. Born on the tail end of a dream, rise in the rainy new dawn. Moms felt secure that their kids would fly high in their fine schools and clothes. In every pot, one chicken. Born on the tail end of a dream. Wake up, get ready to run. Born on the tail end of a dream, rise in the rainy new dawn.

Guruji 04:07
Candle inside never dies when the fire is sound. Place that light inside of me before you take that journey. Raga shapes your wisdom, piety and secret sound. I may never know what you know, but your fire I will carry. You summoned me, met my eyes and your song became my own. What greater gift can one man give another seeking beauty? Raga shapes your wisdom, piety and secret sound. I may never know what you know, but your fire I will carry. Candle inside never dies when the fire is sound.

Red Line 04:12
Thin spreading red line appears upon horizon, trimming dark away from night. Insects begin to hum, a choir of birds awakens, trimming dark away from night. Just a few moments, see sky end and land begin. Feel the warmth upon your face as the chill leaves your bones. Prepare to meet the future, trimming dark away from night. Walking among the thin trees, stare at the sun burning the dew off the leaves, warming your bloodstream. Seek out the god within you, breathe in this time. Red sun, so mellow and golden, will never blind you. That sacred moment when earth turns over: sunrise. Thin spreading red line appears upon horizon, trimming dark away from night. Moments bleed into history, melt in the darkness. Now is the only reality, joy of the morning. Myth is the ancient knowledge all about now. Stories about you and me, tales of morning. That sacred moment when earth turns over: sunrise. Thin spreading red line appears upon horizon, trimming dark away from night. Insects begin to hum, a choir of birds awakens, trimming dark away from night. Just a few moments, see sky end and land begin. Feel the warmth upon your face as the chill leaves your bones. Prepare to meet the future, trimming dark away from night.

I am a starfish, you are the starshine brushing the water with fingers of light. Rising up from the cold depths, I drink light at your surface. I was born at the bottom of a black ocean, gallons of darkness over my head. I grew thousands of needles fighting off bottom feeders. My five arms in the ocean are perfect for motion. I rose up in the darkness through anger and fear. Then I felt your light dancing on the waves. The skin of the ocean is our place, starfish starshine. On the skin of the ocean we embrace, starfish starshine. You were born of the dust of some distant explosion, falling through light years of cold, empty space. Then you fell to the earth, where you painted the ocean. You are the lover that purifies water. I am the five arms receiving your love. Because I believe in your light dancing on the waves. The skin of the ocean is our place, starfish starshine. On the skin of the ocean we embrace, starfish starshine.

Monolith 04:58
Calm like the ocean on a brilliant day. Dying wind settles like dust, dissolves away. Empty like an abandoned ruin. Monolith silent in stone, crickets buzzing. Just beneath the surface, you are not so silent. Passion crashes into the rocks. Underground volcano camouflaging placid eyes, you crash into the rocks. Deep under your skin, icy spears of rain penetrate your peace of mind, evaporate. Tiny axes slowly chip away at the roots of your ego, such a pain. Through eternal thunder you remain a buddha, hand suspended o’er the flame. Never crying uncle, never laying down your arms. You burn up in the rain. The sun rises and sets for you. Rest your weary mind and let the sun rise and set for you. Come out of that prison of perfection. Let me taste your tears upon my tongue. Put that silver umbrella down. The sun rises and sets for you. Love is finally blossoming all over you, massaging all your broken notions. You’re a buried bird, wings clipped inside your mind, although the sun rises and sets for you. You’re the one to touch the wick inside us all, so come on out and light the match. This is the anthem of your redemption.

Ruby 03:04
Flash of light and a switchblade, spinning brightness of circles. Killing time in a postcard, scented bonfire of jasmine. If a germ could marvel, if a color could brush my finger. At the edge of oasis, thinning headlights swallowed. Ruby rains on the highway. Day, when the sun burns from such heights that knives go through me. Day, when the wind blows like a furnace through the alley. Ruby rains in the lane. If a germ could marvel, if a color could brush my finger. Day, when the sun burns from such heights that knives go through me. Day, when the wind blows like a furnace through the alley. Ruby rains in the lane.

Night Logic 10:42
It’s a color that has no name, when you close your eyes and you stare ahead into the blackness. When you stare deep into the sleeping trees of your mind, you see the things that never feel the kiss of daylight, the caress of daylight. It’s a flash, no shape or size, when you close your eyes and your thoughts speed up into the blackness. Touch with the edge of the mind, climbing the trees of the mind. When you sleep, when you close your eyes and take a trip inside, you see the things that never feel the kiss of daylight, the caress of daylight. Touch with the edge of the mind, climbing the trees of the mind.

The group demonstrates a range from sitar/tabla dance-rock to finely orchestrated chamber-rock. Many tracks on here were performed live during the band's heyday.
